Jacinto City’s rich history can be traced as far back as the early 1800s. The state offered a land grant which led to the creation of a small town. The town built schools, commercial property, farms, and ranches. As oil refinement began to grow, the city of Jacinto City soon followed in population and economic growth. Rural communities began to develop when a land developer named Frank Sharp built a subdivision that quickly saw the development of local steel mills and war plants for creating World War II material. From this, various commercial properties began to be built and a community started to grow. Like many places in Texas, after World War II the city began to grow and is still thriving to this day.
