GreenPal’s latest pricing data shows the average U.S. lawn mow now costs $44.37, with a modest year-over-year increase and major price differences from city to city.
The new data shows that lawn care pricing is moving up gradually as the spring season gets underway. On a year-over-year basis, the average price of a mowing service increased 1.38%.
While that rise is modest at the national level, GreenPal’s city-level data shows that what homeowners actually pay can vary sharply depending on where they live.
In GreenPal’s latest 30-day data, Las Vegas stood out as the most expensive market at $105.00 per mow. At the lower end of the market, Albuquerque and Odessa posted the lowest average price at $25.00.
For homeowners heading into spring, the main takeaway is that the national average is useful, but local pricing matters more. A quote that looks expensive in one city may be completely normal in another. That is why comparing local averages can be more helpful than relying on a single nationwide benchmark.
The data also suggests that mowing prices are rising, but not dramatically. That gives homeowners a clearer picture of what to expect as they begin comparing quotes and setting budgets for spring and summer lawn care. In higher-cost markets, booking early may help homeowners secure a preferred slot before seasonal demand picks up further.
"“We’re seeing prices edge up a little bit as spring gets rolling, and that’s pretty normal,” said Bryan Clayton, CEO of GreenPal. “The bigger story is how different the numbers are from city to city. Lawn care is still a local business. What somebody pays in Las Vegas has nothing to do with what somebody pays in Albuquerque. Homeowners need to look at what’s normal in their market before deciding whether a quote is high or low.”"
