About This Repair Shop

Spokane’s Trusted Partner for Every Season

Located on North Madison Street, Spokane Small Engine has become a neighborhood staple for anyone who relies on outdoor power equipment. Owned and operated by Richard for over 12 years, this shop is built on a foundation of "informed confidence" and a genuine desire to help the community. Whether you are dusting off a "beast" of a snowblower after a dry winter or prepping your mower for the first spring cut, Richard provides the expert eye and steady hand needed to ensure your gear is ready when the weather hits.

We understand that a broken machine is more than just a nuisance—it’s a stalled Saturday. That’s why we prioritize quick turnaround times and offer reasonable pickup and delivery services for those who can’t haul their heavy equipment to the shop. From the Bench to the Valley, we’ve earned a reputation for being the small business that treats its neighbors right.

Comprehensive Small Engine Solutions

While many shops specialize in just one area, our expertise spans the entire spectrum of outdoor power. From walk-behind mowers and tillers to snowblowers and chainsaws, we handle the technical heavy lifting that keeps Spokane productive. We are well-versed in the nuances of major brands like Honda, Toro, Husqvarna, Briggs & Stratton, and Kohler.

Our Specialized Maintenance and Repair Services:

  • Full engine tune-ups and oil changes to extend the life of your equipment.
  • Deep carburetor cleaning and fuel system service to combat the effects of old gas.
  • Precision sharpening for mower blades and chainsaws for a cleaner, safer cut.
  • Detailed diagnostics for generators, leaf blowers, and hedge trimmers.
  • Essential part replacement including belts, spark plugs, and air filters.

The Spokane Small Engine Edge

What truly sets us apart is our uncompromising honesty. We are a "no-nonsense" shop; if a piece of equipment isn't worth the cost of repair, Richard will tell you upfront rather than taking your hard-earned money. We’ve even been known to give customers simple tips to fix minor issues themselves at home. This transparency, combined with a massive inventory of hard-to-find parts that are often back-ordered elsewhere, ensures you get back to work faster and for a fairer price than the big-box retailers can offer.

A Humble, High-Integrity Vibe

The vibe at Spokane Small Engine is exactly what you’d expect from a local, service-first establishment: it’s professional, safe, and focused on the person behind the machine. We’ve had customers stick with us for years because they know Richard stands by his estimates and often goes the extra mile—whether that’s explaining a repair in detail or sourcing a used part to save a client a few bucks. We’re here to ensure that every lawn in Spokane is well-manicured and every driveway is clear, one engine at a time.

If you are looking for a trusted lawnmower service in Spokane, WA, I cannot recommend Richard and his team at Spokane Small Engine highly enough. I recently brought in a generator that was giving me a hard time, and even though generators aren't his primary focus, he didn't hesitate to take a look. Incredibly, he had it running perfectly within just twenty-four hours. This kind of expert small engine repair is hard to find, especially when it involves a quick turnaround on equipment outside of a shop's usual daily routine. Beyond the technical skill, the value here is unbeatable. I did my research, and I honestly couldn’t have found a better price anywhere in the Inland Northwest for this level of work. If you want honest, quality service at a more than fair price, you should definitely make this your go-to shop for expert lawnmower repair and service in Spokane, WA.

Top-rated small engine service in Spokane — During the last snow storm, my big snowblower broke. In all the snow I couldn't get the thing fixed. I dropped it off to Spokane Small Engine, and Richard did me a solid. Even though everyone was trying to get their equipment fixed at the same time, he got me in, fixed it, and got the machine back quickly. He gave me a cost estimate that was more than reasonable. $100. I felt a little guilty for paying so little, especially since it turns out there was more wrong with my machine than I thought. When I came to pick it up, he explained all the extra things that he did, but insisted I only pay the original extimate. So, I left a tip. I highly reccomend. If you are looking for reliable, fair, and quick service, where you don't have to pay an arm and a leg; this is the place. Expert lawnmower repair and service in Spokane, WA.
