Lubbock’s Legacy in Lawn Care Since 1980

For over forty years, Howard’s Lawn Equipment Inc. has been a cornerstone of the West Texas landscaping community. Since 1980, James Howard and his family have provided Lubbock homeowners and commercial crews with the kind of informed confidence that only comes from decades of specialized experience. We understand that in the Hub City, our equipment has to stand up to tough dirt and demanding seasons, and we’ve built our reputation on ensuring your tools are always up to the challenge.

Whether it's a simple fix or a complex overhaul, we have the parts and the precision to get the job done right.

Our Professional Maintenance and Repair Services:

  • Full engine tune-ups and oil changes for walk-behind and riding mowers.
  • Expert fuel system repair and diagnostics to tackle West Texas dust and fuel issues.
  • Precision sharpening for chainsaws, pole saws, and hedge clippers.
  • Essential mechanical fixes including pull cord replacements and air filter maintenance.
  • Specialized service for reel mowers, power brooms, and walk-behind brush cutters.

The Howard’s Edge

I’ve always loved Howard’s and wouldn't go anywhere else in Lubbock for my lawn equipment, but a recent experience with a new staff member was very disappointing. While I've had a great experience with mower blade sharpening here in the past, this individual was rude, aggressive, and clearly aggravated when asked for help finding a serial number for a new engine quote. When I politely asked for a more helpful coworker, she responded with a sarcastic remark. Howard’s remains a top-rated small engine service in Lubbock, but this level of customer service was a major letdown. I still recommend them for professional lawn equipment service.
